"Teaching has been a lifelong passion of mine, something I remember wanting to be since the first grade. I have found most enjoyment in private piano or voice teaching where I feel I am able to really tailor my teaching to each individual student. By learning how each student communicates best, I can really reach each one where they are and grow from there. One of my main focuses with students is building a solid technique, first and foremost. I enjoy working with a great variety of musical genres, and providing solid, classical technique can help any voice sing or any instrument play any type of music they desire. Choosing the repertoire students work on in lessons is very much a team effort. If a student doesn't like what they're singing or playing, they're not going to practice. So it is imperative that the student enjoys the music they are working on, for the most growth comes from practicing."
